Participants will expand their understanding of steel base connection design by examining how grouted and ungrouted base plates resist applied forces and by applying the provisions of CSA S16:19 to practical engineering problems, while also reviewing the new requirements and design implications introduced in CSA S16:25.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThrough worked examples and design exercises, the course explores the strength and selection of anchor rods, the mechanisms available to resist factored shear forces in grouted base connections, and the distinction between small- and large-moment behavior.
