We will follow the journey of a new grade of structural steel (ASTM A913 Gr80), which was first introduced in 2019 and has been successfully used in many structures across North America.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe presentation will cover the challenges of developing and working with a new grade of steel, including the initial research and development, introduction to the relevant engineering codes, specification in structural designs, and the physical challenges of cutting, welding, and erecting a new grade of steel.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe story of this journey will be told from the perspective of both the steel producer who introduced the grade, and the fabricator who first implemented this grade on a project.
