Beyond the Plan: A Guide to Navigating Project Complexity

Webinar - 0.075 CEU
Duration: 55 m
Presented by Rak Ramachandra and Aleks Moffett
We excel at detailed planning, yet our projects remain vulnerable to persistent issues that defy even the best schedules. The root of this challenge is often a mismatch: we apply a 'complicated' mindset—perfect for tasks we can control—to 'complex' problems that are inherently unpredictable. This happens in design, in the shop, on site, and even in our meetings.
This session offers a practical leadership model for navigating that complexity. We will move beyond theory to provide a simple framework for identifying the true nature of a challenge and adapting your approach to match. Using relatable examples from the steel industry, you'll learn how to stop firefighting symptoms and start addressing the root causes of recurring issues.
You will leave with three specific and one simple workshop. It's a practical guide for building resilient teams that can thrive when the plan—inevitably—changes.
