SIN Beam - Corrugated Web Welded Wide Flange Steel Beams
Please note that this recording is from an earlier date.
Webinar - 0.075 CEU
Duration: 49 m
Presented by Derek Van Ee, Vice President of Design and Development at Steelcon
SIN beam is similar in concept to a steel plate girder in that it is made up of flat steel plate flanges and a steel web. The only difference is that rather than a flat plate steel web, SIN beam uses a sinusoidal corrugated steel web, resulting in a light and efficiently manufactured steel beam with higher load capacity to weight ratio due to the sinusoidal shape.
This session will explore - How corrugated web steel beams are designed for use in Canada. - Canadian testing that has been done for SIN beam members. - How SIN beams can reduce steel tonnage and costs for building projects.
