This is an excerpt from the CISC Connections 1 and 2 courses. The purpose of the connections courses is to develop the students' skills necessary for the design of solid and safe steel connections. 

This course introduces students to common terminology in the industry and introduce basic design principles. The application of these design principles will be used to solve simple and complex problems. Discussions by the presenters will also impart understanding of the origin of the rules and standards used in the industry.

The excerpts of the courses are intended to allow designers to take selective courses that address specific topics relevant to their projects. These presentation consists of both a discussion of theory, practicality, and several examples.
