Webinar

Duration: 20 min

In Toronto's Rosedale neighborhood, a recent endeavor to replace the aging steel pedestrian bridge has not only preserved a vital link across the Rosedale Valley ravine but also underscored the community's commitment to honouring history as well as promoting environmental stewardship.

Requiring replacement in 2023, the new Glen Road Bridge faithfully replicates its predecessor – a steel pedestrian bridge erected in 1973. It consists of three spans: a central 100-meter section flanked by two 30-meter segments, supported by inclined legs rising approximately 20 meters above the road below. This structure not only provides a scenic pathway but also symbolizes the neighborhood's historical continuity and communal identity.
