This publication provides design, detailing and fabrication criteria for moment connections (as permitted by CSA S16:19 Clause 27 as an alternative to physical testing), including reduced beam section, bolted unstiffened and stiffened end-plate, and bolted flange plate moment connections. Intended to be used in conjunction with the National Building Code of Canada 2020, this module presents design provisions comparable to those governing the design of generic beam-to-column connections in ANSI/AISC 358, "Prequalified Connections for Special and Intermediate Steel Moment Frames for Seismic Applications".
