Duration: 1 hr

Presented by:

As the construction industry pushes toward decarbonization and faster housing delivery, material selection has never been more critical.

This session presents a unique case study where three structural engineers designed a 12-storey mixed-use building using concrete, steel, or mass timber. Through a collaborative panel discussion, they’ll unpack the strengths and weaknesses of each material—highlighting cost, carbon, and construction speed. The design is evaluated through the lens of Steligence®, offering a holistic view of how intelligent steel solutions can contribute to sustainable, efficient, and high-performance buildings. The session will explore how steel stacks up in today’s evolving building landscape.
